EFI broadens packaging portfolio with Rhapso

EFI has acquired Group Rhapso, a printing and packaging software developer, as part of it strategy to extend its capabilities in the packaging market.

Based in Les Ulis, France, and with a further office in in Nürnberg, Germany, Rhapso is made up of two software products addressing the printing industry with the Rhapso Graphisoft MIS primarily marketed in the French-speaking countries, and the Rhapso PC-Topp scheduling and production control solution for the corrugated industry.

Rhapso MIS and ERP products will become part of the EFI Productivity Software family of products. Graphisoft will also be integrated with EFI Fiery, the leading digital front end platform for Xerox, Canon, Ricoh and Konica Minolta printers and copiers. Rhapso's employees have joined EFI and will be integrated into EFI's European operations.

EFI said the acquisition is intended to strengthen its MIS/ERP position in Europe. EFI’s recent acquisitions in this space have included Lector Computersysteme, Metrix Software and shipping software developer SmartLinc.
