SATO wins seventh consecutive World Label Awards prize

SATO Printing Co. Ltd’s success in the World Label Awards 2013 is the company seventh consecutive year it has picked up praise in the global contest.

SATO received one of its 2013 World Label Awards prizes thanks to creativity in using the features of digital printing, such as printing to the back adhesive side of the label, and including one design per layer in the two layers of the front side of the label

The full list of winners in the L9 World Label Awards were recently announced, and can be viewed here, with SATO Printing, which develops and manufactures label products and base materials, awarded two first prize awards and an honorable mention in three separate categories. A total of 37 winners and honorable mentions were presented across 22 categories in the World Label Awards 2013 competition.

SATO Printing won two awards in the letterpress section, where it received particular praise for its technical capabilities, and one award in the Booklets & Coupon Labels category. The label entered in this category is the first label the company has exhibited that was produced using digital printing.

SATO said it received the award in this category partly due to the creativity it showed in using the features of digital printing, such as printing to the back adhesive side of the label, and including one design per layer in the two layers of the front side of the label (pictured).
