As flexible packaging continues to create new opportunities across the labels and packaging industry, label converters are increasingly exploring ways to add new revenue streams to their businesses, expand their capabilities and respond to changing brand requirements.

Loupe India 2026 brings together perspectives from leading brands, converters and industry media for the educational panel session ‘Flex Pack Unpacked: Brands and Converters Talk Flexible Packaging’. Rotocon reports 11 machine sales at Loupe

Rotocon made a strong debut at Loupe Americas, held September 15-17 in Chicago, at booth 719 alongside its North American partner Rotocon USA. The company demonstrated a fully integrated live production line and announced multiple equipment orders secured during the show.

Rotocon USA said it sold 11 machines during Loupe Americas, spanning its flexographic printing, digital finishing, slitting and converting portfolio, including the complete live demonstration line showcased at booth 719. According to Rotocon USA, the orders bring the company’s total machine sales to 20 to date, reflecting growing customer interest in Rotocon technology among North American converters. The company continues to develop its local sales, service, spare parts and technical support capabilities as it invests in its long-term presence in the region.

The Rotocon RFP multi-servo, cylinder-based flexo press was the centerpiece of its first Loupe Americas exhibition. The 450mm (17in), 8-color press ran three live demonstrations each day, featuring non-stop unwinding, flexographic printing and non-stop turret rewinding, attracting interest from converters throughout the show and providing an opportunity to see its press architecture, automation and integrated production capabilities in operation.

Other press features showcased at Loupe Americas include a BST web guiding system, Phidastien UV LED curing systems, Erhardt+Leimer SmartScan 200 percent inspection system, Kocher+Beck print cylinders, Polyflex Premedia printing plates, and a Wink SmartGap adjustable anvil system.

Rotocon also said it secured several equipment orders at Loupe Americas from customers in South Africa and Kenya investing in its label printing presses and converting equipment. One order came from Kenyan converter Express Labels, which purchased an RFP 340 8-color, full-LED flexographic press with peel-and-read, cold foil, sheeter and conveyor units. Express Labels’ Esther Wahome traveled from Kenya to Chicago to sign the order at the show.

'Loupe Americas was an important milestone for Rotocon as we expand our presence in North America,' said the Rotocon board of directors. 'The interest from converters and industry partners confirmed the demand for high-performance, high-value flexographic and converting technology, supported by a strong local team. We are excited about the opportunities ahead for Rotocon USA and our customers in the region.'

Rotocon’s press conference at Loupe Americas drew turnout from industry media, with attendees gathering to hear about the company’s growing presence in the North American market and its latest flexographic technology. Presenters included Michael Aengenvoort (Rotocon), Cooper Ludwig and Jeff Haddad (Rotocon USA) and Sachin Sukhlal (Rotocon), who led a live demonstration of the fully integrated label production line.

'Converters have been looking for an alternative, and I think the response we received in Chicago speaks volumes,' said Jeff Haddad, national sales director of Rotocon USA and Q360 Group. 'Modern servo technology shouldn’t be financially out of reach, and investing in a new press shouldn’t require compromising on performance, capability, or support. That’s exactly what we’re challenging.'

'What we experienced in Chicago was more than a successful product launch,' said Cooper Ludwig, vice president of Rotocon USA and Q360 Group. 'It validated what we believed from the beginning: the North American market is ready for a new challenger. We’re not simply introducing another press manufacturer. We’re building a complete North American infrastructure around Rotocon, bringing together advanced technology, local expertise, parts, service and a dedicated demonstration and training center. The momentum coming out of Loupe Americas has been tremendous, and we’re just getting started.'

Loupe India 2026 shows next-gen label and flex pack technologies

Loupe India 2026 (formerly Labelexpo India), South Asia’s leading labels and narrow/mid web package printing event, will present a comprehensive technology lineup spanning labels and short-run flexible packaging.

Amongst the technology highlights, Domino will unveil a new digital label press, showcased in India for the first time alongside the company’s high-speed monochrome K600i and K300 digital printers. Domino also demonstrates its Cx150i and Gx Pro thermal inkjet technologies for high-speed coding and marking applications available under the One Domino program.

Epson is set to demonstrate the SurePress L 6534VW digital label press for commercial and industrial applications, alongside the ColorWorks C6550A and ColorWorks C8050 on demand color label printers.

Flint Group Packaging Solutions will highlight its latest innovations in ink technology, including EkoCure Dual Cure technology, engineered to support transitions from conventional UV to UV LED curing. The company will also feature Flexocure Ancora and Flexocure Leap - UV flexo ink systems developed for food packaging applications to enhance compliance and deliver consistent press performance.

On the same stand, Flint Group Digital Xeikon will display the Ecolyne digital toner press, available both through subscription and purchase.

Gallus and Heidelberg will showcase the Gallus Screeny Printing Unit. Introduced last year and debuting in the Indian market, the compact module brings rotary screen-printing capabilities to any narrow-web press. With mechanical speeds up to 120 meters per minute, it enables converters to add high-opacity white and tactile design elements to labels.

HP will showcase the HP Indigo 6K+ Digital Press, printing both labels and flexible packaging within highly automated, AI-driven workflows.

Kurz will present its full range of packaging embellishment technologies, including Dreamcomposer 3D visualization software, Distorun cold transfer module, Silver Line and Trustseal SFX optical foils, supported by application samples and technical information.

Multitec demonstrates two flexo presses. The first is an 8-color S3S, a 670mm/26in-wide mid-web, fully servo-driven press designed for short-run flexible packaging and shrink sleeve label applications. The second is an 8-color 450mm-wide S2 press designed for label and flexible packaging applications.

Provin Techno will showcase Spande’s S5 flexo printing press, addressing mid-range market needs for high-quality label production. Provin Techno will also demonstrate smart RFID solutions from Weiju, including two unique tabletop, high-precision roll-to-roll and piece-form RFID encoding and verification machines.

Webtech launches three flexo presses. The Aeroflex S4 is shown in two variants: a 9-color 550mm-wide Quad servo-driven sleeve press, and a 10-color 450mm-wide triple servo press incorporating the company’s single gear technology. Completing the lineup is the Aeroflex S5, a 720mm-wide quad servo press specially designed for flexible packaging production.

Among the essential ancillary suppliers to visit is Acme Rolltech, which demonstrates its ATAC 3.0 (Acme Tactile) and AHDW 3.0 (Acme High Density White) anilox rolls designed for narrow web flexo embellishment and high-opacity white printing.

CapriCoating Solutions will feature PCR content label materials developed to meet rising demand for sustainable packaging and the increased use of recycled content substrates.

'Loupe India 2026 signals a significant technology expansion for the Indian label community,' said Andy Thomas Emans, strategic director, Loupe Global. Wanjie India has confirmed that it will showcase three flagship machines at Loupe India 2026 taking place from October 29 – November 1 at India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR.

WJPS will exhibit the Advanced-350 shaftless intermittent rotary offset label printing press alongside a high-speed slitter with an integrated HD inspection camera and a high-speed flatbed die-cutting machine, with live demos at the company’s booth during the show.

A joint venture between Ahmedabad-based Bipin Offset and China’s Hebei Wanjie Technology Group, Wanjie India is barely a year old company. The company’s product profile consists of a line of Wanjie WJPS Series shaftless intermittent and full rotary offset presses and finishing equipment comprising Wanjie WJMQ high-speed flatbed die-cutting machines, slitting units, and inspection systems. Shortly after being incepted, Wanjie India has sold 11 printing machines and more than 40 finishing systems.

Rakesh Patel, director, Wanjie India, informed: ‘Loupe India 2026 is an important platform for us. Three machines will be demonstrated live at our booth where label printers and producers looking for a comprehensive solution for short- to medium-run requirements can have hands-on experience of each machine. Our team of technical experts will help every one of them know the capabilities and many other aspects of the machines.

The configuration of WJPS Advanced-350 consists of six offsets, one flexo, and one intermittent rotary die-cutting, with an on rail cold foil + turnbar between the first and second stations. This configuration is ideal for short- to medium-run printing as well as long-run printing and production of premium-quality labels and stickers.

The high-speed Slitter with HD inspection camera is designed to run at the speed of 200m/min for slitting labels with an option to cut films and other materials as well. Running live adjacent to it at high speed, the flatbed die-cutting machine features conveyor feeding and full-cut capacity. It also operates as a rewinder to roll up stickers for half-cut, and the machine die-cuts at a speed of 450 strokes/min.

Over the last few months, Wanjie India has been gaining ground in the Indian label and flexible packaging industry with rapid expansion of the installation base of WJPS Advanced-350. The first booking of the shaftless intermittent rotary offset label printing machine took place at Labelexpo Europe 2025 (now Loupe Europe) in September 2025 at Barcelona by Pune-based Shreemulti Sticks & Labels.

Patel said: ‘After Shreemulti, the machine had been installed at two of the leading label and flexible packaging companies. The rhythm is still going on as a number of units of the machine have recently been booked by some of the prominent label and flexible packaging manufacturers.’

According to Patel, the company expects more than 50 units of the machines to be installed across India by 2027-28. Wanjie India will be at booth K-44 in Loupe India 2026.

Cerm concluded a successful presence at Loupe Americas 2026, where customers, prospects and industry partners gathered to discover the company’s latest developments in MIS software, automation, artificial intelligence, scheduling, business intelligence, quality management and traceability.

Cerm showcased updates and new functionality for Cerm 7, its flagship product, including advanced quality management and traceability, production scheduling, business intelligence through Smart BI and AI-powered order processing with Lexis, Cerm’s latest AI agent.

The company also introduced O2, Cerm’s new cloud-based MIS. Introduced publicly for the first time at Loupe Americas, O2 generated interest among visitors looking for a modern, browser-based MIS designed around ease of use, automation, connectivity and the evolving needs of converters.

O2 has been developed as a new cloud-based platform alongside Cerm 7. With an intuitive user experience, API-first architecture, automation capabilities and built-in industry knowledge, O2 represents an important next step in Cerm’s product portfolio.

Cerm’s AI agent Lexis was a key topic of discussion at Loupe Americas. Lexis was presented on the event’s Spotlight Stage, giving attendees a closer look at how artificial intelligence can address one of the most persistent manual processes in label, flexible packaging and folding carton businesses: converting customer emails and attachments into sales orders.

Lexis reads incoming emails and attachments, extracts relevant order information, validates the data against live Cerm information and prepares sales orders for review. Users remain in control of the final validation while significantly reducing the amount of manual data entry required.

Lexis also received industry recognition through its nomination for an Innovation Award at the Labels & Labeling Global Awards 2026. The nomination reflects Cerm’s approach to AI: applying the technology to practical industry challenges where it can create measurable improvements in productivity rather than introducing AI simply for the sake of it.

Visitors to the Cerm booth also showed interest in the latest developments in Cerm 7, the company’s flagship MIS/ERP.

Cerm Tempo, a browser-based tool for production scheduling, demonstrated how rule-based automation and scoring can help optimize production schedules, improve machine utilization and respond more quickly to changing production priorities.

The company also presented Smart BI Enterprise, giving customers more flexibility to combine Cerm MIS data with external information and gain a broader view of their operations.

Enhanced quality management and production traceability capabilities were also highlighted throughout the event, including digital quality checklists and expanded production history reporting designed to help converters improve consistency, simplify audits and meet increasingly demanding customer and regulatory requirements.

Loupe Americas also provided Cerm with an opportunity to bring customers and industry professionals together through the Cerm Studio, where customers shared their experiences with MIS implementation, automation, productivity, growth and data-driven decision-making.

These conversations reflected many of the challenges currently facing converters: increasing production complexity, shorter runs, pressure on skilled personnel, more advanced traceability requirements and the need to connect more systems across the production workflow.

'Loupe was an important moment for us because it allowed us to show not only where Cerm is today, but where we are going,' said Jan Heyse, CEO of Cerm. Mark Andy has marked its 80th anniversary at Loupe Americas 2026 in Chicago by running live demonstrations on three presses, showing converters how productivity gains translate into profitability.

Positioned at the entrance to the main hall, the booth was the busiest throughout the three days. The demonstrations covered pure flexo, flexo/toner hybrid and flexo/inkjet hybrid technology, which Mark Andy says was the most live presses on show at the expo, alongside high-speed inspection and a new inventory management program from Mark Andy Print Products (MAPP). 'Our technology has long focused on lowering cost by improving productivity and reducing waste. We're able to deliver on this because of our partnerships and working with converters,' said Duane Pekar, CEO of Mark Andy.

The Performance Series S9 flexo press ran two jobs alongside the Rotoflex VLI inspection rewinder. The S9 is the sleeve version of the P9, a 26in press capable of running at 610m/min and was fitted with Momentum H3 dryers that reduce energy costs and carbon footprint. The Rotoflex VLI matches the S9 for speed, with a 40in unwind and two 24in rewinds.

The DPro MAX, a compact and affordable hybrid aimed at short and medium runs, produced demo labels with CMYK toner, gold cold foil, gloss varnish and die cutting in a single pass. The press can be upgraded as demand changes.

The DSHD HighSpeed 1200, which Mark Andy describes as the fastest narrow web digital press in the world, returned to Chicago two years after its launch. Its two demo jobs showed a spot color printed by flexo or inkjet on a semi-gloss substrate, and multiple versions of high-opacity digital white with automatically registered flexo varnish on a clear-on-clear substrate. In-line converting, high speed that raises the crossover point between digital and flexo production, and spot color by either technique were the key features highlighted.

A display of work from a single eight-hour shift on the DSHD covered ten jobs totaling 873,000 labels. Compared with flexo, production time fell from 47 hours to eight, setup time from 34 hours to three and material waste by 83 percent, while overall costs improved by 28 percent.

Supporting the presses was the latest version of ProWorx Label Suite, which provides a digital front end and analytics covering step and repeat, variable data, multiple SKU planning and on-press color management. MAPP introduced SupplySmart, an inventory management program to simplify pressroom restocking, and ColorSmart, a system that standardizes the interaction of production variables to deliver consistent, repeatable color across jobs, presses, shifts and operators.

'We came to LOUPE with one message, "Proof of Productivity", because we believe that if our converter partners are not working on productivity every single day, their business is at risk. We're here to help drive productivity and we put it on the floor for all to see. Not just press demos but live production of real jobs to show converters how to accomplish more, improve efficiency and keep their operations moving forward,' added Pekar.

He also noted that a surprise visit from Mark Andrews Jr. of the founding family gave the booth a boost and a photo opportunity for the anniversary.
