Avery Dennison appoints Susan Shi as senior technology director for North Asia

Avery Dennison has appointed Susan Shi as the senior director of technology and innovation of its Label and Graphic Materials (LGM) group for North Asia, including China, Korea and Japan.

Before taking up this position, Susan Shi worked as regional technical supervisor of the business department for PPG and Dow Chemical

Avery Dennison said in her new role, she will provide fresh energy, broad vision and new direction to the company’s R&D organization. She will lead the business in product research, material re-engineering and adhesive development for the Avery Dennison LGM business in North Asia.

Before taking up this position, Shi worked as regional technical supervisor of the business department for PPG and Dow Chemical. She earned a PhD in organic polymer materials from Tokyo Institute of Technology。

Shi reports to Hassan Rmaile, global vice president of R&D for Avery Dennison LGM, who said: ‘As a global leader in pressure-sensitive materials, and functional materials and labeling solutions for the retail apparel market, Avery Dennison has been consisting to prompt the industry development in the past 82 years. This appointment is just another indication of the company’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of research, development and product innovation.’
