Bluestar Silicones appoints general manager

Pascal Chalvon-Demersay has been named general manager of Bluestar Silicones International (BSI) within Bluestar’s silicones division. In this role, he will have operational responsibility for BSI activities throughout the world.

A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique Paris and ENSTA, Pascal Chalvon-Demersay started his career with Rhone Poulenc as a production engineer before becoming strategy director for Rhodia Polyamide Intermediates. In 2005, Chalvon-Demersay conducted the partnership negotiations with BlueStar on behalf of Rhodia, which resulted in Rhodia selling its silicones business in February 2007. Since that time, he has been general manager of Bluestar Silicones International Asia and vice-president of Bluestar Silicones.
