Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury welcomes female engineering apprentice

She is working on a level 3 extended diploma in engineering maintenance – EME engineered systems (pathway E) advanced apprenticeship, and is working in the production department. Her initial responsibilities include managing the change and setting of cutting tools, as well as the maintenance of a variety of printing, cutting and sleeving machinery and equipment.

Simon Timperley, manufacturing manager, said: ‘Lauren is a welcome addition to the team bringing with her a keen interest in learning and great enthusiasm. We are delighted to have her working with us and developing her skills.’

Stone’s apprenticeship sees her on a day release arrangement with her college time spent at Alliance Learning in Bolton.

She said: ‘It’s great to get involved in a real manufacturing environment. The products we produce here are seen on every trip to the supermarket. Outputting high quality products requires a lot of technical knowledge and specialist techniques behind the scenes that I am starting to understand. I am finding it all very interesting and it’s a fast-paced learning environment.’

Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury is a supplier of flexible packaging products for food, dairy, beverage, personal care and household sectors.
