Constantia makes double appointment to drive growth

Constantia Flexibles has appointed Stephan Kühne as its new chief financial officer (CFO), and promoted Gerold Riegler from chief operating officer (COO) to chief technology officer (CTO).

Stephan Kühne is currently CFO of Intersnack Group, a manufacturer of savory snack foods in Europe

Kühne is currently CFO of Intersnack Group, a manufacturer of savory snack foods in Europe, with an annual turnover of 2.3 billion EUR, 28 manufacturing sites and 8,500 employees.

He will join the flexible packaging and labels group on August 22, and succeeds former CFO Peter Frauenknecht. Kühne has been CFO, and managing director, of Intersnack Group since 2011. He is responsible for all finance-related topics, human resources, non-commodity procurement, legal, IT, as well as governance, risk and compliance. He previously served as CFO of plastic foil specialist Klöckner Pentaplast of America at the end of the 20th Century.

In addition to the CFO appointment, Riegler has become CTO with immediate effect. Constantia Flexibles said the CTO role better reflects his management responsibilities for capital expenditure, asset and quality management, research and development, as well as health and safety.

Of the appointment of Kühne, Constantia Flexibles CEO Alexander Baumgartner said: ‘Constantia Flexibles and the company’s shareholders are bringing on board an experienced and proven international CFO, with a diverse industry background, covering manufacturing, services and consumer goods. We wish Stephan success in his new role and look forward to his support in advancing our global growth strategy.’
