Cosmo Films appoints new business head for East Asia

Cosmo Films, a manufacturer of speciality BOPP films, has named Dharmesh Zavery as business head for its East Asian operations.

Zavery’s career spans more than 17 years, of which 15 have been in the packaging industry where he has held leadership positions both in India and international markets. Dharmesh’s last assignment was with Huhtamaki India where he worked as head of sales. 
 
Cosmo Films has a manufacturing facility and sales unit in Korea while it has an elaborate distribution and sales set up in Japan. The Korea facility manufacturers the complete portfolio of thermal lamination products offered by the company which includes matte, gloss, scuff-free matte, holographic, velvet and silver PET products. The company has a 20 percent share of the Japanese market for thermal lamination films. The East Asian unit also has a significant presence in countries including Korea, China and Taiwan, and is looking to extend its sales to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. 
 
Cosmo Films is planning to double its production of thermal lamination films from its Korea facility to cater to the growing market potential. The company’s East Asian units also market its packaging and speciality products manufactured in India. 
 
Cosmo Films has been looking at growing through mergers and acquisitions. Zavery’s responsibility will include identifying potential acquisition and joint venture partners in the East Asian region. He will be based out of company’s Japan office.
