Coveris has promoted Dennis Patterson to lead its Labels & Board business unit.
Patterson, currently the company’s UK managing director, Labels & Board, joined Coveris in 1999. His previous experience includes various roles at Coveris, preceded by periods as group operations director at Paragon Labels, which was acquired by Coveris, and managing director at SE Labels
His promotion follows Coveris divesting its US and rigid businesses in 2018 and instigating a new structure built around technology and markets, organized into three business units (Labels & Board, Films, Flexibles). This change has been made to position itself as a leading European packaging producer, fully focusing its strengths on its core businesses and geographic markets.
Coveris stated that Patterson will be key in further developing the Labels & Board business unit within the UK and in Europe.
Additionally, Coveris Group CEO Jakob Mosser is to temporarily take direct responsibility for the Film business unit. Gary Rehwinkel, who previously headed up the Films business unit since 2012, is relocating back to the US.
Mosser commented: ‘I decided to involve myself more in the Films business unit to leverage collaboration and innovation at the core of our business. We do thank Gary for his support in bringing Coveris UK forward and wish him all the best for his future. We are convinced that together with Dennis, we will further strengthen our business and continue offering excellent packaging solutions and services to our customers, in the UK and abroad.’
