Davis-Standard CEO moves to vice-chairman role

Bob Preston has stepped down from his position as chief executive officer (CEO) of Davis-Standard and is transitioning to vice-chairman of the company.

Preston is joining a materials company in the US southwest to become chairman and CEO. As a result of the change, effective November 18, Davis-Standard said the search for a new CEO is underway.

Preston remains a significant individual investor in Davis-Standard and will continue to play an important role in the company’s strategic leadership.

In the interim, Davis-Standard’s daily operations will be managed by an Office of the President, consisting of chief financial officer Mike Pisch, vice-president of global operations Todd Pearson and Jim Murphy, vice-president of global sales and marketing.

Greg Baylin of ONCAP said: ‘On behalf of Davis-Standard’s board of directors, we recognize Bob’s tremendous contributions to the company including the creation of a strong Asia-Pacific presence, the introduction of several new market-focused products and the development of an experienced management team.
