Esko appoints senior vice president of sales

Esko has appointed Christian Korte (pictured) to the newly created position of senior vice president sales.

In this role Korte will oversee sales, marketing and service activities worldwide, with a focus on extending reach into new segments at existing customers and in adjacent markets.

‘Esko customers are under increasing pressure to develop their brands and the marketing messages carried by the packaging at an ever accelerating pace,’ commented Carsten Knudsen, CEO of Esko. ‘Esko is uniquely positioned to address these needs. To further develop this business opportunity, we have appointed Christian to take the role of senior vice president sales and assume overall responsibility for our company’s sales, marketing and service. The market is evolving quickly, which presents us with numerous opportunities. With Christian’s proven track record and expertise, we and our customers will be able to make the most of them.’

‘I look forward to help all participants of the print and packaging production supply chain realize the full potential of Esko’s comprehensive portfolio of solutions,’ said Christian Korte. ‘The enhanced productivity, cost reduction and flexibility they provide are essential for customers of all sizes looking to make efficiency improvements. They are also vital in long-term relationship-building with brand owners and key customers – particularly in emerging markets where new challenges call for quick and effective action.’

Formerly president of the Dairy Business Unit at German packaging specialist Oystar Holding, Korte was also managing director consumer division of German packaging group Optima, where he began as a product manager. Esko says Korte brings deep industry knowledge to his new role, gained from years on the other side of the packaging development and procurement table.
