FPE re-elects Gérard Blatrix as chairman

Gérard Blatrix of Amcor Flexibles has been re-elected to serve a second term as chairman of Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE), an association representing the continent’s flexible packaging supply chain.

Alongside the re-election of Blatrix, Michele Guala, of Gualapack, and Stefan Gutheil, Wipak, were elected as vice chairmen.

The elections were confirmed at the association’s recent record-breaking summer conference in Naples, Italy, where FPE also officially welcomed six new member companies in addition to the 80-plus members of the trade association who represent around 85 percent of the turnover in the European flexible packaging market.

Blatrix commented: ‘I am honoured to be re-elected as chairman and greatly appreciate the confidence this shows in my leadership of the group from the members, and for our work supporting the development of the flexible packaging industry in Europe. We will carry on our work to promote flexible packaging as a more sustainable packaging solution.’

FPE members manufacture all types of flexible packaging. FPE comprises more than 80 small and medium sized companies as well as the major European producers of flexible packaging for all materials. Six national flexible packaging associations are also members of FPE.
