These three join two existing apprentices, Connor Murphy and Johnny Haywood, with eight other apprentices having been given full time roles with the company over the past five years.

Each of the apprentices carries out an NVQ level 2/3 in Performing Engineering Operations and, depending on their previous training, they will also complete a two-year technical certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

Gerard Heanue, managing director of Heidelberg UK, commented: ‘Heidelberg takes training and the development of new skilled young people within our organization very seriously. With 160 field and technical engineers in the UK, we are unrivalled in the support we give our customers and in addition we have the very latest technology to allow us to prevent or repair remotely where possible.’
