Parkside appoints operations director

Morrisroe previously worked at Eaton Corporation, formerly Cooper Lighting & Safety, in various manufacturing roles. More recently, as senior operations manager, he has overseen an extensive number of operations projects at Eaton.

With expertise in driving and mentoring improvement teams, Parkside said Morrisroe has an ‘outstanding record’ of achieving results, including championing the restructure of the mains lighting assembly and press areas into value streams, focusing on quality cost delivery.

In his new position, Morrisroe will be responsible for improving health and safety, quality control and process efficiencies at the Normanton, West Yorkshire site through new operational process, standard work, workflow, design and implementation. With more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing, predominantly in packaging including 23 years at production management level, Morrisroe will also be accountable for contributing to Parkside’s overall business growth strategy.

He will report directly to Parkside managing director Nick Smith, who said: ‘With his considerable experience in manufacturing and process improvement, Alan will drive Parkside’s UK operations to the next stage of growth. His leadership in manufacturing excellence will help improve our operational output, both in efficiencies and performance, and further bolster our position in the industry as a specialty packaging provider.’

His appointment at Parkside is part of a major change to the company’s executive team structure.

‘I am thrilled to be back working within the packaging industry, having first started as a Print & Box Manufacturing apprentice at John Waddington in 1977,’ commented Morrisroe. ‘I am delighted to be joining Parkside at a very exciting time and to be part of developing the strategy and growth of the business going forward.’
