Timothy J. Sullivan, CEO of Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC), has announced that Frederick W. Baer has assumed the new role of executive vice president of corporate development at PCMC, following the change in ownership to Barry-Wehmiller Companies, Inc. in October.

Baer will also assume the responsibility of overseeing the strategy development for the PCMC line of inline flexographic printing presses. He will use his considerable market experience to focus on this key product line to develop a vision for growth that will increase the significance of this business unit to PCMC's future.

‘A growing product line that serves a large market will help balance the cycles of our tissue, flexo and nonwovens divisions, and it will allow us to realize the value that was foreseen at the time of the purchase of Webtron,’ Baer explained.

In addition, Baer will be involved, on a project basis, in other corporate business development initiatives of Barry-Wehmiller. He will work with other Barry-Wehmiller companies to explore product and technology synergies that will enhance PCMC's offerings, while at the same time assessing PCMC products and technologies that may be of benefit to these companies.

He will continue to have responsibility for the management of the Technology Center, intellectual property, and product safety and liability functions of PCMC.
