Samir Gulve named VP and MD of EFI India

Samir Gulve has been promoted to the position of vice president and managing director of EFI India.

Samir Gulve named VP and MD of EFI India
Gulve joined EFI in 2013 as vice president of engineering for the EFI India Development Centre in Bengaluru. In that role, he was responsible for many of the engineering activities used to advance EFI's MIS/ERP, web-to-print and Fiery digital print workflow products. Under Gulve's leadership, the India Development Centre completed award-winning software product upgrades that solve some of the toughest workflow issues EFI customers face.

During his nearly three decades of technology executive management, R&D, engineering, sales, strategy and operations experience, Gulve has held senior positions at AT&T Bell Labs, Avaya, Netscape, Amdocs and Spice Mobility. Gulve has also managed successful start-ups, including Kiva Software, Calico Commerce and Visual Insights, and was co-founder and CEO of the start-up Shakti Systems.

Gulve, who assumed his new position in February, is now directing EFI's business expansion efforts in India as the company intensifies its focus on substantially growing its local business capabilities. EFI will be hiring more staff in the country and adding 30 percent more space to accommodate growing opportunities in India's packaging, decoration, graphic arts and industrial inkjet printing markets.

In his new role, Gulve has assumed responsibility for one of EFI's fastest-growing geographic markets.

Stephen Green, vice president of sales in the Asia-Pacific Region at EFI, said: ‘Samir Gulve has had a very positive influence on EFI's culture, productivity and innovation, and his well-rounded background in sales, engineering, R&D and operations make him an ideal choice to be managing director of EFI India. We are glad to have such a capable leader ascend to his new role at one of EFI's most important global facilities.’

‘India is a dynamic market for print – with many new opportunities for our customers to grow their profitability,’ said Gulve. ‘I am honoured to be able to put my experience to work in a role that will help our valued print and packaging clients in India achieve more success in a rapidly changing industry.’
