York Label appoints new CEO

York Label has named John P. McKernan as president and CEO of the company, effective March 2, 2009. York Label is large provider of high quality labeling and packaging solutions to global consumer products, wine and spirits, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage companies.  
 
McKernan recently served as president of MeadWestvaco (MWV) Calmar, a global provider of dispensing solutions for the cosmetics, fragrance, home and garden, auto, personal care and pharmaceutical industries with revenues of approximately $500 million.  As president of MWV Calmar since 2001, he worked to transform the business into a global enterprise with over 2,500 employees spanning four continents. He brings over 25 years of experience in the packaging industry to the company.
 
McKernan joined MeadWestvaco Calmar in 1996 as vice president and general manager and was later named executive vice president of the division. Prior to joining MWV Calmar, McKernan worked for Setco, a division of McCormick & Company, as vice president of sales and marketing and previously as vice president, engineering and new product development.
