BPCouncil and Brand Protection Alliance announce partnership
BPCouncil and its newest member, The Brand Protection Alliance (BPA), have formed an alliance. According to BPCouncil director Jodi Joseph, the organizations 'represent two fronts in the war against counterfeiting and the partnership is a natural fit'.
The Brand Protection Alliance is a consortium of companies dedicated to protecting the quality, integrity and security of brands. The BPA offers a portfolio of overt, covert and forensic solutions available to safeguard against a broad range of counterfeiting techniques. BPCouncil is a 'virtual' community of brand protection and IP professionals that enables access to – and exchange of – information, resources, best practices and commercial opportunities among brand owners, technology providers, NGOs, legal professionals, enforcement bodies and other IP stakeholders.
In announcing the partnership, both BPCouncil and BPA explained that one of their main goals was to combine the organizations' resources to benefit both memberships in their fight against counterfeiting. Lynn Crutchfield, founder of The Brand Protection Alliance, said: 'Signing up for BPCouncil membership is just one more way of fulfilling our mission of helping brand owners get the best brand protection solutions for their products. BPCouncil's website is second to none when it comes to a wide range of easily accessed brand protection-empowering tools – and these are just what our member companies are looking for.'
BPCouncil director Jodi Joseph said: 'BPCouncil connects BPA members to a wider and global network of fellow IP professionals, providers and customers – while the brand security and authentication solutions offered by BPA member-companies can make valuable contributions to BPCouncil's platform. Ultimately, the real beneficiary of this partnership is the fight against IP infringement and product diversion.'
