Etipress installs third Omet press

Bogotá-based label converter Etipress has installed a third press from Italian manufacturer Omet, in the form of a 530mm-wide XFlex X6, having installed its first UV flexo Omet press in 2007.

Jorge Pabón, general director of Etipress, said: 'We saw the opportunity to expand our market share through a mid-web machine, so as to optimize the printing of long runs and accept jobs of larger sleeves.

'Among the advantages of the XFlex X6, we can highlight its high speed, which is maintained especially in combination with die-cutting on difficult shapes. The quick job changeover, based on the use of light sleeves, is also very convenient from the point of view of production.’

Etipress was founded in 1992, initially as a letterpress house as the Colombian market began its move from wet-glue towards self-adhesive label production. Over the years it has added screen, water-based flexo and digital printing technology, as well as laser-cutting finishing equipment.

With 106 employees, Etipress serves the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, household products, beverage and lubricant sectors with self-adhesive and shrink-sleeve labels.

Support is provided by remote diagnostics and Omet’s service branch in the USA.
