Manoj Kochar, IHMA chair

The annual Excellence in Holography Awards are organized by the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA) and will be presented at the forthcoming Holography Conference, which will be held on 15-16 November in Minsk, Belarus.

The awards recognize outstanding achievement and mark those who have been at the forefront of the sector, introducing innovative or commercially viable hologram products or techniques over the past year.

Attended by delegates from hologram suppliers, manufacturers and users around the world worldwide, the conference will also feature displays of product from the winners and runners-up.

Any company or individual is eligible to enter – not just IHMA members – and the award categories include innovations for the best in Holographic Technology, Origination, Display or Emerging Technology Applications and Applied Security, Decorative and Packaging Products.

The closing date for applications is August 24 and covers commercial hologram projects produced after August 1, 2017.

A panel of sector experts, which will include a representative of the IHMA and two invited independent judges (an authentication specialist and a promotion or design expert), will be on this year’s judging panel.

The annual Brian Monaghan Award for Business Innovation, given at the discretion of the Board, will also be presented in recognition of outstanding industry achievement and contribution.

Manoj Kochar, IHMA chair, said: ‘The awards celebrate the best holography has to offer and the truly innovative products the industry introduces annually.

‘Excellence, new applications and quality will no doubt lead the way in this year’s crop of entries, reflecting how new technology pushes the holographic boundaries forward.’

Anyone involved in a hologram project can enter while others can nominate holographic projects for an award if they provide details of the user or producer of the hologram. Application award forms can be downloaded from the IHMA website.
