British Coatings Federation retains TAF ‘Trade Association of the Year’ title

BCF CEO Tom Bowtell (second from left) and Tania Morrill (second from right), head of marketing at BCF, accept the ‘Trade Association of the Year 2018’ award

British Coatings Federation (BCF) has been named ‘Trade Association of the Year’ at the Trade Association Forum’s (TAF’s) 2018 Best Practice Awards, making it one of only two organizations to have retained the title.

On only one other occasion in the event’s 16-year history has an organization received the award two years in a row. BCF was also won ‘Publication of the Year’ for its annual handbook and in the ‘Good Governance’ category.

Tom Bowtell, BCF CEO, said: ‘Winning “Trade Association of the Year” for a second time running makes me hugely proud. We strive to serve our members, to go the extra mile to deliver value and to gain influence for the sector. It’s wonderful to see this recognized, and I’d like to thank the BCF staff for their dedication and commitment to putting members first.

‘2018 has been a huge upheaval for the BCF team, moving over 100 miles to a new office in Coventry, and recruiting a new back office team. We now have a wonderful new home for our members, and this award is the icing on the cake for another momentous year for the federation.’

TAF chief executive Linda Cavender added: ‘BCF has a particularly inclusive nature and has had another fantastic year, punching above its weight representing the industry and a record year for membership growth. The organization is supremely professional and is a shining example of a trade association that others should aspire to emulate.’
