Coim Group begins flexible packaging ink production

Coiminks inks and varnishes, produced at both the San Martino in Strada and Offanengo sites in Italy, are serving the EMEA market. The Vinhedo Sao Paulo plant in Brazil is running for production and sales in the NAFTA and South America areas.

Coim is already present in the flexible packaging industry with the Novacote line, aimed at food and pharmaceutical packaging manufacturers. Coiminks will rely on the same research and development structure and commercial technical service that is available in four different continents to provide customers with global knowledge and local presence.

‘The food and pharmaceutical packaging market makes up for almost 25 percent of worldwide turnover for the Coim group,’ said Alessandro Passerini, CEO of Coim EMEA.‘Now thanks to this integration, we expect to consolidate our position by offering our customers a complete solution: inks, adhesives and coatings that will meet the needs of a continuously evolving technological industry.’

‘The project is very challenging,’ said Ivo Sensini, Coiminks division manager: ‘We have been working alongside the group R&D activities to develop 100 percent polyurethane ink systems that are able to meet the increasing performance needs of our customers. These products are in addition to the standard production currently used by industry converters.’
