Cosmo Films starts operations in Poland

Cosmo Films has established a wholly owned subsidiary in Poland, Cosmo Films Poland, set-up for the purpose of sale and distribution of its range of BOPP and CPP films.

Cosmo Films intends to provide better service in Eastern and Western Europe by offering quicker response times with this unit.

Daksh Malik, sales and operations head for Eastern Europe at Cosmo Films, said: ‘Poland is the biggest market for packaging grade film in Central and Eastern Europe, and it is a convenient location in the very center of Europe making it a perfect investment destination for targeting both Western and Eastern part of the continent. It also has a qualified and competitive labor force.’

Cosmo Films Poland commenced operations in February 2018, with a focus on specialty products in the region.

Malik added: ‘We will primarily promote our specialty products like barrier films, synthetic paper, lidding films, wraparound label films, pressure-sensitive labelstock films, direct thermal printable films, acrylic and PVDC coated films, high hot tack and high seal strength metalized BOPP Film, low SIT transparent and metalized films, and cold seal release films. As far as thermal lamination films are concerned, we are the market leader in Poland.’

Cosmo Films CEO Pankaj Poddar described Poland as the fastest growing economy in Europe, with the biggest consumer market. ‘We have strategically set up our operations in Poland as Europe is an important market for us,’ he said. ‘With our extended range of specialty films and our customized innovation focus, we are confident of meeting the new emerging needs of the customers in the continent and at the same time our proximity with the customers will help us serve them better.’
