UK printer Aztec Label has taken delivery of a full UV Focus Proflex 330E flexo press

The new Focus press will be used for volume production of high quality self-adhesive labels. It has been purchased to further increase efficiency and productivity across Aztec’s increasing range of applications.

The Proflex E model with precision lineshaft drive system, is available with print widths of 250mm and 330mm with a choice of drying systems, including full UV, LED, infrared, or combination drying systems. Optional chill rolls for heat sensitive substrates are available. An open architecture design of the print stations enables top loading of print cylinders, whilst interchangeable print cartridges can be partially or fully unloaded and exchanged. Bearer rings are incorporated into the print cylinder assembly to guarantee accurate print impression settings, regardless of substrate. Print cartridge assemblies can be cleaned off press, allowing the operator to maintain uninterrupted production. As well as traditional flexo print heads, there is also a facility to integrate single or multi-color digital inkjet systems, for short run and variable data requirements.

The modular design of the press means that the future addition of extra print heads, and other optional equipment, is readily facilitated. A rail system is mounted along the top of the press to allow optional overhead press equipment to be easily transported to the required position. Options such as turnbar, delam/relam, cold foil, laminating, waste rewind turret and digital inkjet can all be rail-mounted> Heavy duty servo driven die-cutting units with removable anvils are provided for converting a range of substrates from film to 280gsm board.

As standard, the new Proflex E is equipped with touchscreen HMI operator interface panels for all press control functions, plus storage of job information for future reference.

Colin Le Gresley, owner and managing director at Aztec Label, commented: ‘As a company, we’ve always strived to achieve the best possible quality, with the best equipment available. Our existing Nilpeter presses have enabled us to become established as one of the UK’s leading producers of self-adhesive labels and we can now strengthen our position even further with the addition of the new Proflex press from Focus.

‘We’ve known Focus for many years and were aware of its growing reputation for high quality, reliable equipment and first-rate customer service. The Proflex will complement our existing presses and will enable us to be even more efficient across our wide range of products.’

Focus Label Machinery sales manager Antony Cotton added: ‘Although Aztec Label is a new customer for us, we have been in close contact with it over the years, hoping for an opportunity to introduce our equipment at some stage and we are delighted that the company has now given us a chance to work with it as a valued supplier. We very much look forward to building a strong partnership with Aztec Label and hope to supply more equipment in the future.’
