Revolution Print and Packaging was founded by Mat Taylor, Troy Garlick and Becky Francis in 2017. It is focused on customer service, short lead times and employee appreciation, areas where the trio said they’d noticed a decline in the industry over the years. It began with a strict focus on labels but has since been pushed by customers to offer more flexible packaging options. ‘We’re adding the CEI slitter to boost our rewind speed and because of the awesome tension controls and advantages it gives us with flexible packaging,’ said Taylor.

Simon Goss, CEI CEO and co-owner, added: ‘Mat traveled to northern California back in the early days. I think we only had seven employees at that time, and we were competing against a goliath in the industry. Mat had sent us a bunch of material to convert and expected it to take all day. We finished it in 90 minutes and decided to spend the rest of the day shooting clay pigeons.’

Of the landmark shipment, CEI COO Curtis NcQuade said: ‘Todd Kotila [director of business development at CEI] suggested we have a little fun with it. So we let Mat pick a special color and we badged it a “special edition”. Someone suggested we post a time-lapse video of the machine being built on our website. It’s been a really fun project for a great customer.’
