First Australian Labelfire press to fire up in Melbourne

Australia's first Gallus Labelfire 340 inkjet press is planned to go into production at Melbourne's Rapid Labels, the company has announced.

According to the company, the decision to invest in the new Labelfire press was largely influenced by the its speed and metallic ink capability, and the fact that its 50m/min speed is unaffected by the number of colors of any given job. The need to support Rapid Labels' ongoing short run volumes required by its customer base is augmented by the benefits of eliminating make ready times.

In addition, the unit's hybrid flexo stations incorporate the vital benefit of silver and metallic ink capabilities to print alongside its 8-color digital capacity. This enables the Melbourne shop to provide a complete production system, including the additional flexibility of spot color as well as a range of single pass finishing facilities.
