Westpak plans to grow its business and add new customers by offering more flexibility and opportunities with short runs variable printing. As part of its transformation to adopting new technology, Westpak purchased the HP Indigo 20000 to build on its existing high-resolution printing capabilities.

Westpak points to less start-up waste, ability to print on a variety of materials, less cleaning of printing tools and reduced use of solvent ink as just some of the many benefits of HP digital printing technology.

‘The constant evolution of the packaging market makes it a very interesting business to work in as product life cycles become shorter, volume and complexity of designs continues to grow, and variable printing is at the hands of customers,’ said Jonas Skuthälla, managing director at Westpak. ‘Our partners already see us as the highest quality printer with the most flexible and skilled organization on the market. The decision to install an HP Indigo 20000 will take us even further in this. Our long-term relationship with Visutech and HP, based on cooperation and understanding, has helped us make the right decision with this purchase. We see very interesting opportunities for our customers with this new investment and we will continue to invest in new high-quality opportunities to ensure an excellent service. This purchase also lowers risk for our customers with market introductions. We see ourselves as a service provider, not only a film supplier.’

With the intent to use the new press to primarily serve the food industry, Westpak also plans to build out a network of designers and content producers to offer its customers complete services for their packaging needs.
