Major milestone for Australian label applicator manufacturer

Posted in Latest News on August 12, 2010

Sydney, Australia-based Impresstik Systems has delivered its 1,000th label application unit. A division of Australian label printer Impresstik Labels, Impresstik Systems manufactures a wide range of label application machines from semi-automatic models to automatic inline units and fully integrated rotary machines for high-speed applications.

All machinery is designed in-house and benefits from its sister company’s knowledge of label converter needs. Equipment is often customized to the specific needs of the customer.

The company recently developed Web-Master, a patented roll-changeover device which enables automatic application of self-adhesive labels in the normal manner but splices the start of the next roll in readiness for expiry of the first – thereby avoiding any line-stoppage during changeover.

‘It’s a typical example of our finding out what the market wants by talking to our label customers,’ Peter Baumli, director and production manager, explained. ‘It’s then up to us to adapt an existing concept or develop a new one to fulfill that want.

‘We are arguably the only label applicator manufacturer in Australia with the facilities to provide such a custom-design service. I doubt whether there are many Australian companies that service a local industry as comprehensively as we do for the manufacturing community.’
