Prisym ID and Oracle to host webinar on serialization-ready labeling

Prisym ID and Oracle will host a webinar entitled ‘Dropping the Gavel on Counterfeit Drugs’ at 4.00 pm BST on Wednesday 12 May. The webinar will explore how to combat counterfeit medical supplies and optimize business processes with serialization-ready labeling.

The supply of counterfeit medicines and medical devices is a growing problem worldwide. The World Health Organization estimates that up to 1 percent of medicines available in the developed world are likely to be counterfeit. This figure rises to 10 percent globally, although in some developing countries they estimate one third of medicines are counterfeit.

The new challenges presenting themselves to the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry include the creation of unique serialization codes for individual products during the production process, the secure high-speed printing and verification of these codes, plus the subsequent efficient storage and retrieval of any of these millions of codes at any point within the lifecycle of a product and beyond.

In this 60-minute session, Prisym ID and Oracle will present an in-depth look into why serialization is vital in the fight against counterfeiting. It will also examine how the development of web-based labeling and management solutions can help to deliver secure and compliant printing for mass serialization and data management. It will also discuss other benefits of serialization; such as how the ability to track product movement throughout the supply chain can help improve efficiency.
