Posted in Latest News on November 08, 2007

Rohm and Haas Packaging and Building Materials business has announced a price increase for all products sold to the adhesives and sealants industry in Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey, Middle East and Africa. This includes all acrylic, vinyl acrylic, vinyl acetate emulsions, polyurethane, polyester, PVDC and complimentary technologies sold to the pressure sensitive, construction, flexible packaging, transportation, and industrial adhesives. The increase ranges from 4 to 6 percent and will take effect on December 1, 2007, or as contracts allow.

Jonathan Hastings, vice president and general manager, Packaging and Building Materials, Europe, said, ‘These increases are necessitated by persistently high costs of raw materials, energy and freight. To reduce the impact of these increases on our customers we continue to work to absorb these costs internally. However, the sheer magnitude of the costs requires that we pass a reasonable share along to our customers at this time.’
