3 Sigma owner Grant L. Beck has passed away

Beck started his first company, Beck Equipment & Supply, at the age of 20. He also worked for Avery Dennison Fasson for 11 years in sales and management on the US West Coast. His entrepreneurial career continued with the acquisition of Baseline Industries in 1980 and from there his ownership portfolio expanded to include many other companies, in addition to 3 Sigma.

Since 1980, 3 Sigma has been a supplier of specialty pressure-sensitive adhesive coated products. 3 Sigma offers expertise in solvent, emulsion and hotmelt technologies.

Beck is described as a hands-on owner, active in the management, planning and strategic direction of his companies, as well as a ‘strong advocate of his employees’, and, ‘a loyal friend and partner to his customers’. 

‘Grant will be sorely missed by many in this industry and even more by those that had the opportunity to work closely with him on a day-to-day basis,’ said 3 Sigma in a statement. ‘Our condolences go out to his family and also to all of his friends in the printing and label world.’
