Afinia adds Etirapid to reseller network

Afinia Label and Etirapid have signed a reseller agreement that will see the Mexico-based company sell the L801 color label printer, DLP-2000 mini digital label press and related supplies.

In rotary mode, the DLP-2000 can convert continuous label stock at up to 140ft/min

The Afinia Label L801 is powered by Memjet technology, which gives it a print speed of 60ft/min and an ink cost of less than 3 cents for a 4 x 6in label with 75 percent coverage. This is a fraction of the cost of other inkjet label printers. The L801 supports three print modes, roll-to-roll, roll-to-cut and print and hold. The Afinia Label DLP-2000 includes an L801 label printer, working in-line with a laminator, a rotary die-cutting station, which can use existing 12in Rotometrics dies, a slitter and a rewinder. The DLP-2000 can run at speeds up to 30ft/min. In rotary mode, the DLP-2000 can convert continuous label stock at up to 140ft/min.

Mike Atkins, Afinia Label national sales manager and who has responsibility for attracting resellers to the brand located in The Caribbean, North, Central and South America, said: ‘Mexico is a large primary and secondary labeling market and Etirapid has already established itself as a key equipment reseller. We are excited at the potential we see in this region. Partnering with Etirapid has been a good fit. Its expertise in the market and of label printing and finishing equipment allows it to provide manufacturers with label production solutions that enhance productivity and profitability. It is also the first to sell and install a DLP-2000 in-country.’

Etirapid is based in México City, and is a 100 percent Mexican company, and since 1995 has been a manufacturer of polypropylene labels. In 2000, the decision was taken to expand and start producing all types of labels for many industries.

Daniel Camhi, general manager of Etirapid, said: ‘We have quite a bit of experience helping our clients take advantage of labeling opportunities. We carry a wide range of thermal transfer printers, so adding the L801 is a good move. There is nothing like it in our market. At Expo Gráfica, the visitors to our booth were impressed with its speed and low cost of operation.’
