Flexible packaging is identified as one of the fastest growing application sectors within the North American narrow web industry. Label printers are increasingly running flexible packaging applications on their label presses and report these are some of the most profitable jobs they print, according to APR.

APR has conducted extensive research in the narrow web flexible packaging space. Results include 48 percent of narrow web flexible packaging applications being produced on presses with web widths of 10-13in. Nearly a quarter (24 percent) are produced on presses with web widths of 17-20in. Just five percent fall into the 21-26in bracket, 14 percent on 14-16in press widths, and nine percent on press widths of 10in and under.
