Avery Dennison recognizes global suppliers with awards

BASF was named Supplier of the Year by Avery Dennison, while Wacker and Munksjö were both awarded in the Best Supplier Sustainability category. DuPont Tejin Films was named Best Emerging Supplier, Jujo Thermal as Best Innovation Supplier, Schneider Electric as Best Indirect Supplier and Trans International as Best Transport Supplier. Polifilm took away the Best Supplier Quality Award and Crown Van Gelder the Best Supplier Service Award.

‘Our suppliers are key partners in delivering superior value to our customers that extends throughout the value chain,’ said John Klein, global vice president of procurement at Avery Dennison Materials Group. ‘These awards are an opportunity to recognize them for this work and to forge stronger relationships so we can continue collaborating to drive excellence.’

Of the Supplier of the Year recipient, Klein said: ‘BASF has demonstrated its commitment to developing a stronger, more strategic relationship with Avery Dennison. It continues to achieve high performance ratings as measured by supplier performance scorecards, and it has shown dedication to working together on issues that are critical to the future of our industries, including innovation and sustainability.’

Avery Dennison said Best Supplier Sustainability awards went to two suppliers in Wacker and Munksjö who ‘demonstrated both leadership and action’ to align with Avery Dennison’s sustainability policy to use responsibly sourced materials, comply with third-party verification processes and show clear commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in this very important area.

Wacker executive board member Auguste Willems said: ‘The Avery Dennison award shows that sustainability is playing an increasingly important role for our customers. By consistently developing our Dehesive silicones further, we have succeeded in continuously improving the sustainability and cost efficiency of release coating formulations. That’s why we see this award as an incentive to develop solutions for our customers that meet growing market requirements and set standards in terms of efficiency and sustainability.’
