Benson Group has been presented with a safety award from parent company Graphic Packaging International for its manufacturing facility in Bardon, Leicestershire, which has surpassed the 250,000-hour mark since its last Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable accident

Graphic Packaging International recently presented the Bardon operation with the President's Bronze Safety Award for 250,000 work hours without a recordable incident.

Benson Group, a UK printed folding carton supplier, said the award recognizes the factory’s continued health and safety record, described as a ‘commendable achievement’ especially given that the site produces on average 94 million cartons each month.

Mike Owens (pictured), plant manager at Benson’s Bardon site, said: ‘It is a delight to have this important achievement recognized by our colleagues at Graphic Packaging International.

‘The award is for all of our hard working team, who are to be congratulated for their adherence to safe and effective working practices.’

Michael P. Doss, chief operating office at Graphic Packaging International, added: ‘Working safely is everyone’s responsibility and the efforts of each employee at Bardon demonstrate that our safety vision, which states “we will have an injury free workplace” is achievable.

‘The facility is a great example for all of our operating locations on what can be achieved.’
