Best Label’s ECS 340 feature three screen stations and eight UV flexo stations, plus two die stations, a cold foil unit and auto-register. The servo-driven press also features self-contained, water-cooled impression cylinders, and a granite base enhances stability. Delivery of the press is expected in December.

Best Label runs seven older Gallus R- 160 rotary letterpress machines that are still used to produce labels. This is the company’s first ECS 340 and Gary Ingle, operations manager at Best Label, said: ‘The new press will handle silkscreening on wider web labels than we could previously make,’ stated Ingle. ‘We do a lot of business in the water bottles and cosmetics industries, where we lay down an opaque background on supported film then print with 4-color process. This new press will have three screen stations plus eight UV flexo stations, enhancing our ability to produce greater volumes of high quality labels for the consumer markets we serve.’

The sale was handled by Frank Hasselberg, Gallus, Inc., Western regional sales manager.
