Bobst expands presence in Africa with office in Lagos, Nigeria

Bobst is to open an office in Lagos, Nigeria to enhance the support provided to customers in West and Central Africa.

'By opening an office in Lagos, the city with the biggest population in the most populous country in Africa, we will be closer to our customers and able to provide them with an even higher standard of service’ - Samir Khoudja

Bobst sees West Africa, and Nigeria in particular, as a ‘very dynamic market’, and Samir Khoudja, Bobst managing director for the Middle East and Africa, said: ‘By opening an office in Lagos, the city with the biggest population in the most populous country in Africa, we will be closer to our customers and able to provide them with an even higher standard of service.’

Bobst has a sales and service center in Tunis, Tunisia, with overall responsibility for the company’s activities in Africa and the Middle East. The new Bobst office in Lagos will cover Nigeria and the wider West Africa region, providing pre-sales assistance and technical support for sheet- and web-fed customers.

‘Establishing this presence in Lagos is a significant step for Bobst and we expect that it will lead to further expansion in the region,’ concluded Khoudja.

The expansion was detailed to coincide with the Propak West Africa exhibition, with around 50 VIP guests, including the owners, CEOs and managing directors of many packaging, label and FMCG companies, along with the Consul General of Switzerland in Lagos, Nigerian government officials and the media, attending a launch event at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
