BST International is a manufacturer of quality assuring systems for the web processing industries, specialized on systems for web guiding, color measurement, web inspection, register control, layer thickness and basis weight measurement, as well as tailored solutions for tire production.

Similarly, eltromat manufacturers high-quality optical measurement and control systems for in-line printing processes.

With the acquisition, BST said it has become a leading technology partner for all quality assurance and production optimization requirements of the web processing industries.

BST chief executive officer (CEO) Uwe Meyer will become CEO at BST eltromat. The previous eltromat CEO Dr Gunter Tautorus and Dr Johann-Carsten Kipp will assume commercial (CFO) and technical (CTO) management positions respectively. Former BST sales manager Kristian Jünke completes the new management team as deputy manager/head of sales and service.

Meyer said: ‘Through the merger, we can even better focus on our customer requirements and reduce time-to-market for new solutions. Whether extrusion, packaging production, hygiene industry or tire manufacturing, BST and eltromat were very good as single players, but now merged to BST eltromat we become the key market and technology leader.’
