The fully UV press features movable cold foil, slitter, turnbar, chill drums, delam, relam, conveyer, lamination, rotary die-cutting and in-line sheeting. It can print substrates with thickness between 12 and 500 micron.

Ranesh Bajaj, director at Vinsak and exclusive distributor of Lombardi presses in India, said: ‘We are very pleased that Citrus Packaging has opted for Lombardi to start its label printing business. The machine is technologically sound and can print a range of substrates.’

Chenga Reddy, managing director at Citrus Packaging, said: ‘We chose this press mainly because it can convert different substrates with high print quality. It is a user friendly machine and reduces the dependency on highly skilled personnel. Further, it is suitable for both long run and short run jobs.’ The company will focus on printing security labels with track and trace as well as variable data printing. It will also cater to shrink sleeves and in-mold labels for short run requirements.

Reddy has worked in the printing industry for 32 years with various technologies and says he has a clear understanding of the market dynamics. ‘Citrus Packaging will have a customer centric approach. Our mission is to cater to a distinct market by providing quality and innovative products delivered on time at competitive prices. The strength of the company lies in its people, all with over 10 years’ experience in various facets of the flexo industry. With these strengths, we are sure that we would be able to establish ourselves as a strong player in the label industry.’
