colordruck Baiersbronn becomes Heidelberg Primefire 106 pilot site

European packaging service provider colordruck Baiersbronn has been confirmed as a pilot user of Primefire 106, the first industrial digital printing system in B1 format from Heidelberg.

colordruck Baiersbronn offers customized and specialized packaging products to industrial and commercial companies from the food, confectionery, pharmaceuticals and non-food industries. colordruck Baiersbronn has developed from a packaging producer to a packaging service provider, and after intensive tests of a wide variety of technological and business concepts, Primefire 106 is set to expand its new Packaging Digital division, allowing it to offer its customers from all over Europe opportunities for mass customization by personalization and individualization of packaging.

Decisive for the investment decision by colordruck Baiersbronn were the strong competences of Heidelberg in the area of packaging printing, and color and image quality of the system, coupled with Heidelberg’s experience in of workflow, pre-press, printing, post-press and service. ‘We’re confident that Heidelberg is the right choice for us for digital printing, allowing us to meet the future requirements of our discerning customers in a sustainable way,’ added Bruttel.

Heidelberg presented Primefire 106 at drupa 2016, and has since confirmed Multi Packaging Solutions (MPS) as a pilot user of the digital printing system.
