Cosmo Films honored for flexible packaging innovation

IFCA Star Awards are conferred by the Indian Flexible Packaging and Folding Cartons Association, while the SIES School of Packaging Star Awards are awarded by the educational institute.

The winning IFCA Star Award entry was a black velvet lamination film that offers intense black color along with velvet touch to the laminated paper, paperboard or package. Winning entries in the SIES School of Packaging Star Awards included a recyclable soap wrap film and an ultra high barrier film that can serve as a replacement for aluminum foil. The recyclable soap wrap film is claimed as a major innovation as it helps both brands and converters fair better on laminate structure rationalization and GSM reduction, thus reducing the overall costs, as well as better aesthetics with a pearl effect and recyclability quotient.

Tapas Mandal, head of research and development at Cosmo Films said: ‘Any form of recognition encourages us to only raise our product standards to the next level. These awards go on to further assure our customers that we have been developing some of the finest products with improved functionalities and aesthetics with cost effectiveness in mind.’
