DG press furthers web offset education campaign

DG press has continued its work to educate flexo printers about the use of web offset as an alternative to flexography for printing on flexible materials with the release of the third, and final video, in its series discussing important aspects of the process.

DG press has presented a hybrid 7-color Thallo variable repeat web offset printing press featuring its latest developments

The marketing campaign is built upon the slogan ‘Flexo or Web Offset’ and DG press said it wants to explain the offset printing process to flexographic printing companies because, in general, ‘these companies are not familiar with offset printing’. The campaign will span print and online advertising, and include a series of videos where DG press service engineer Rudy Hoogkamp will talk about all important aspects of the offset printing technique. The first video, which can be viewed here, highlights the principles of offset printing, such as the ink and water balance, the ink knives to determine the correct ink volume and the way offset plates create the printed image.

The third episode, which can be viewed here, addresses costs, sustainability and print quality, and shows how web offset offers quicker job changes and a better time to market in comparison with flexo or gravure, according to the supplier.

DG press has developed the Thallo web offset machine for flexible packaging printing by utilizing more than 20 years of experience in web offset printing on film.

Episodes one and two in the series can be watched on the video section of the L&L website.
