The annual EskoWorld took place on May 19-22 in Phoenix, Arizona, with around 600 people in attendance.

Esko said the event program, including product overviews, future roadmaps, workshops and user presentations, was well received.

EskoWorld 2013 featured a number of break-out sessions covering a selection of product and application topics. More than 90 sessions covered the entire range of Esko product areas, with tracks covering applications including digital flexo, commercial print pre-press, packaging pre-press, structural design, 3D design, brand management, digital print and digital finishing.

The sessions themselves varied in nature, from: roadmaps, offering views of a current product and planned development in the future; academies, providing hands-on operator training sessions on Macs and PCs; and presentations, sharing industry overviews or product and service information.

A “Partner Zone” was hosted in the same room as the general sessions, as well as breakfasts and lunches, allowing attendees to speak with Esko partners about shared technologies. EskoWorld partners at EskoWorld 2013 included Augment, Cape Systems, CHILI Publish, DuPont, EFI, Enfocus, HP, MacDermid, Meta Communications, The Quick Brown Fox, Southern Lithoplate, Storaenso, Tesa, Western Computer and X-Rite.

End users and educational institutions also delivered presentations, including: James Stanley, of Xpedx; Kenneth Miess, from Victory Packaging; Ken Madsen, of GS; James Traber and Bonnie McMaster-Bigum, from Catalent Pharma Solutions; Abbe Evers and Michelle Rademacher, from the University of Wisconsin; Bobby Congdon and Dr Chip Tonkin, from Clemson University; and Pete Rivard, of Dunwoody College of Technology.

Mark Quinlan, president of Esko Americas, said: ‘We are grateful that we seem to out-do ourselves at EskoWorld every year. Perhaps it’s no surprise that attendance is growing as it is.

‘It is our objective to plan and execute the best educational program we can for our customers.

‘We wish to thank the Esko community for enthusiastically turning out in fantastic numbers to learn how to get the most out of their systems.’

EskoWorld 2014 is planned for June 15-18, 2014 at Walt Disney World, Swan and Dolphin Resort, Orlando, Florida, and Quinlan said: ‘We've already started planning to make sure next year’s program is just as rewarding.’
