FIP platemaking installs top 300 in four years

Flexography India Press (FIP), an Indian company that mainly manufactures and exports flexo photo polymer platemaking machines, has installed 308 platemaking machines since its inception in 2010.

In addition, it sells five flexo photopolymer platemaking machines and two label and letterpress platemaking machines every month.

FIP is headquartered in Viramgam and its manufacturing plant is in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The plant has the manufacturing capacity of 10 machines every month. The company also makes rubber stamp making machines, solvent recovery equipment and many other machines for the flexographic printing industry. The equipment is priced in the range of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.

Mehul Parmar, chief executive officer at FIP, said: ‘We have sold a total of 50 letterpress plate making equipment and we get at least one order every month from the letterpress industry.’

FIP has dealers in Africa, Sri Lanka, Mumbai and Kolkata. The dealer in Kolkata sells equipment to neighbouring countries including Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. In the last four years, the company has exported 69 machines to various countries such as Ethiopia, Lagos, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Bahrain.

‘We believe in long term business relation and provide good quality equipment with free service, warranty, and training,’ said Parmar.

The company plans to soon launch an in-line flexo, water-based and solvent -based photo polymer platemaking machine. FIP will also participate for the first time at Labelexpo India to be held in Delhi from October 20 to November 1. The company will showcase its label and letterpress platemaking machines on the show floor.
