‘Upside Down or Inside Out: What’s Next in Packaging?’ will be held as a two-hour session on May 3 at 12:30 and will mark the opening of Forum 2015. It will focus on overall packaging trends that are being driven by changing population demographics, including printed electronics and brand protection.

Chaired by Penny Holland, of Sun Chemical, and Tetra Pak’s Galen Croxton, the session will explore new opportunities for flexo printers and converters to consider as they seek to diversify their offerings, expand their capabilities and increase revenue streams.

Colleen Twomey of California Polytechnic State University, Suzy Badaracco from Culinary Tides and Lori Campbell of The Label Printers will present during the session, covering packaging trends, how technology and consumer trends affect packaging’s future, and brand protection.

Holland said: ‘It’s critical that flexo printers be familiar with what’s new and hot in packaging design. Staying on top of current trends and up and coming technology can mean potentially new sources of revenue and new growth opportunities. Sharing these innovations with their customers can add a layer of credibility and customer loyalty.’

‘Be prepared for new ideas, new technologies and new ways to be successful,’ added Croxton.
