The 2014 Scholarship Drive Golf Outing, DFI’s 11th annual fundraising golf day, took place at the White Pines Golf Club in Bensenville, Illinois on July 24, with Pat McGowan from UPM Raflatac, Steve Molinets from Tesa Tape, Rob Quast from UPM Raflatac and Ken Paveza from A-Flex Label (pictured, from left) emerging as tournament winners.

DiTrolio Flexographic Institute hosts the event as a way to raise money for its student scholarship fund.

The flexo industry is invited to participate in Scholarship Drive Golf Outing events by playing golf directly, with colleagues or a group of customers, with golfers of all ability levels encouraged to play.

Sponsorship opportunities also exist, including golf cart sponsor, hole sponsorships, beverage sponsor, lunch sponsor and networking dinner sponsor.

Further, donations are welcomed, as a prize for a raffle, promotional items for the golfers or monetary funds directly for the scholarship.

This year’s sponsors included 3M, Alden & Ott Printing Inks, Anderson & Vreeland, BST Pro Mark, Burger Plumbing, Diversified Labeling Solutions, DMS, DuPont Cyrel, Flexo Wash, Graymills, Label Traxx, M&R Graphics, PFFC, Siegwerk EIC, Technipaq, Tesa Tape, The Label Printers, UPM Raflatac, and Yazoo Mills.

In a post-event statement, DFI said: ‘July 24 turned out to be a beautiful day for golf and the 2014 Scholarship Drive Golf Outing was a successful fun event. This program enables future flexo press operators the opportunity to be trained and start a new career in our great industry.

‘With your support (and love of golf), this Scholarship Drive Golf Outing continues to grow.’
