HP Indigo targets growth in South East Asia after WS6800 sales

HP sold two HP Indigo WS6800 digital presses into South East Asia during Labelexpo Europe 2015, and is targeting further expansion in the region which it said is growing at more than 30 percent year-on-year.

The HP stand was buzzing with negotiations, demonstrations and sealing of business deals at Labelexpo Europe 2015
James Yew, regional business development manager for labels and packaging at HP Indigo and inkjet pres solutions in Asia Pacific and Japan, said: ‘We see phenomenal growth in South East Asia of over 30 percent year-on-year. New digital presses are far exceeding in terms of technology compared to conventional presses in the market.’

While HP presses have strong presence in Indonesia and Thailand, the company sees Vietnam and Singapore as growing markets as well. ‘Malaysia, however, is not growing as fast yet but it is expected to catch up. The technology know-how is more dominant in Thailand and Indonesia,’ said Yew.
