The press includes an in-line spectrophotometer which speeds Pantone color matching by up to 75 percent and eliminates the need for manual color calibrations and adjustments. The press has an expanded 320 mm press frame.

HP Indigo has multiple presses now installed in India, where it continues to have success with its entry level WS4600-series press as well as the more productive 6000-series machines.

‘The main challenge we face is educating customers how to sell value to end customers, who are used to selling at volume and price,’ says Ajay RaoBane, HP Indigo sales manager India & Sri Lanka. ‘We have seen a lot of interest at this show.’

Commenting on the success of the HP Indigo ‘digital supermarket’ concept, global business development manager Christian Menegon says: ‘when Indian brands visit our stand they see that our digital technologies are practical, and that they can be applied to IML, cartons and shrink as well as self-adhesive labels.’
