Invercote is Iggesund Paperboard’s flagship product, and is a multi-layered solid bleached board made from chemical pulp produced by the sulphate pulping method. It is manufactured at the company’s mill in Iggesund, Sweden.

The Invercote family consists of a range of products customized for different end-user applications, and Invercote G is designed for graphical products and prestige packaging with a smooth surface that is tailored to meet the need for the most sophisticated printed images and, foil and film lamination.

Previously, Invercote G has been triple-coated on the print side with an uncoated reverse and is available in grammages from 180-380 g/sq m.

From summer 2015, Invercote G will be enhanced with a lightly coated reverse side, with coating meaning that the whiteness on the reverse has been adjusted up and improvement to lightfastness has been made.

The coated reverse side also allows printing of a color shade or pattern which improves recognition and reinforces a brand.

Specifications for the upgraded Invercote G as well as sample and trial material will be available from early February. Deliveries will start July 1.

Arvid Sundblad, vice-president of sales and marketing at Iggesund Paperboard, said: ‘More and more brand owners want to have access to high-quality reverse side printing, for example in order to print a colour shade or pattern which improves recognition and reinforces their brand.

‘We are developing Invercote step by step, and always in the direction our customers want. This is not a revolution but rather an adaptation to gradually changing customer demands.

‘The reverse side coating is very light – it improves the printing properties, but still keeps the tactile feeling of roughness.

‘But in making this change we have also preserved all the other properties that have repeatedly led to Invercote being ranked by leading brand owners as the European paperboard market’s strongest brand.’

Concurrently with the introduction of the upgraded Invercote G, Iggesund Paperboard has also improved and made more transparent its service offering under the name Care by Iggesund. The aim is consistent delivery times but the offering also encompasses everything from a rapid sample service and the dissemination of knowledge to local technical support and a transparent raw materials supply.
