Indian exhibitors gear up for Labelexpo Europe 2015

A total of 17 Indian companies will exhibit their products at Labelexpo Europe 2015, being held in Brussels from September 29 to October 2. Of these 17, first-time exhibitors include Hyden Packaging, Max Speciality Films, Globus International, United Inks and Alliance Printech. Here’s a look at what to expect from Indian companies at the upcoming show.

Alliance Printech will display posters and videos of its Novaflex-XS flexo label press, which was launched at Labelexpo India 2014. The company says it has sold five of these presses, of which two have been exported to Saudi Arabia and UAE. Jatinder Kumar Julka, chief operating officer at Alliance Printech, confirmed: ‘We are looking at soon signing a contract with a European partner and are evaluating more partners in Africa and in Gulf countries.’ The company aims to reach label printers worldwide through its participation at Labelexpo Europe 2015.
 
Convertech will introduce Sureprint Excel Pro doctor blade for high wear resistance applications including metallic inks, and for both flexo and gravure presses.
 
Diehard dies will exhibit its rotary, flat and flexible dies alongside the hot stamping foils. 
 
Garware Polyester, one of the leading Indian manufacturers of polyester, BOPP, thermal lamination and solar control window films, will focus on its high shrink films for full body sleeve with 75 percentage shrinkage. The company will have on display UV traceable high shrink films with security features, UV protection high shrink film to protect ingredients in container from UV light, solid white high shrink film used to protect ingredients in container from direct light, BOPP films for wraparound labels and BOPP and PET coated label films.
 
Globus International Coaters, a manufacturer of silicone coated release liners based near Mumbai, will exhibit its range of silicone coated products including glassine, super-calendared, clay coated and polyester release liners for the label manufacturers. New products will include both sided siliconized colored polyester liners, fluoro-silicone liners, printed release liners amongst others. Harsh Doshi, director at the company, said, 'After the tremendous response received from exhibiting at Interpack 2014, we are extremely positive about our participation at Labelexpo this year and aim to push our products further in the international label market.’ The company has initiated the development of agents and distributors for the African market and would be evaluating associates for other regions at the show.
 
HassleFree Technologies, manufacturing arm of Kumar Labels, will showcase its patented labelstock range and a new version of the NB 330 semi-rotary die-cutting machine with a varnish unit.
 
Holostik will display more than 30 different products developed in-house. Launches include holographic induction sealing liners with mirror strip and printing. Chetan Bhatia, manager, international business, said, ‘Labelexpo Europe has helped us in business development and making new relationships. We also bought new machines and got in touch with new raw material suppliers at the show. At the upcoming edition, we are also looking at signing distributors for our company.’ While Holostik’s domestic to export ratio is 90 percent to 10 percent, it is growing fast in the international market and supplying to more than 70 countries. 
 
Hyden Packaging will introduce its U 350 HS narrow web slitter rewinder to the international market at Labelexpo Europe 2015. The company has sold six machines in India since its launch at Labelexpo India 2014. The machine is capable of slitting and rewinding at 300 meters a minute while the inspection speed is restricted to the capture pace of the inspection camera at a particular resolution. The company is participating at Labelexpo Europe to target international markets. P J Jayakar, managing director at Hyden Packaging, said: ‘We expect to generate interest in overseas market for our machine through Labelexpo Europe 2015. The primary reason is to popularize our brand internationally.’
 
IEEC-PBJ Industrial Electronics is showcasing corona treatment system with integrated operator control console on the treating station at the show floor. Some of the newly developed products include ozone destructor, dual pass corona treating system for labels and narrow web, sheet corona treatment, and a multi-head plasma treater called plasmatrix. Company director Rohit Deshpande said: ‘We consider participation in the exhibition as a stepping stone for brand recognition rather than promoting the product. We feel that exhibiting at any Indian or international event has its advantages in the long run.’
 
Max Speciality Films, another Indian manufacturer of BOPP films, will show a line of films for wraparound, in-mold and pressure-sensitive labels. To read L&L’s feature on the company, click here.
 
Mona Equipment will display Mona+ doctor blade for flexo machines, multitube air expanding core shaft, friction ball shaft for narrow web presses and small diameter air expanding core shaft. 
 
Monotech Systems is participating with an information booth and will highlight its Jetsci range of industrial inkjet systems and Jetsci JSLR and VSRI label slitter rewinders. The company’s presence will focus on brand protection and short run digital labels – two major trends in the international market. The Indian representative for narrow web presses from Focus Label Machinery, Monotech Systems requests Indian converters to see the live demonstration of running presses.
 
Multitec will showcase its Ecoflex VSi 8-color all UV in-feed, out-feed servo press. The company has recently installed its 100th flexo label press in Iran. 
 
PGI Technologies, previously known as Precise Graphic, will launch its newly designed Precicut 330 die-cutting machine for barcode labels. With a production speed of up to 120m/min and repeat range from 8-18in, the machine comes with an electronic web guide, intelligent PLC control with interactive HMI for ease of operation, pneumatic tension control with an option of auto-tension control and an inline razor blade slitting.
 
SMI Coated Products, a third-time participant, will showcase both its paper and filmic labelstock at the show floor. Ajay Mehta, managing director at SMI, said: ‘We want to highlight our filmic labelstock range because a number of printers are not aware of the product portfolio we offer. Labelexpo Europe is the “Mecca” of all label shows. It is always an exciting place to be in where we interact with all our friends from across the globe and make new friends. We are sure that our filmic labelstock will be well appreciated at the show.’
 
United Ink & Varnish will show its range of inks for the label industry with focus on specialty and security products. The display will include scented inks, temperature-sensitive inks, UV chromic inks, aqua chromic inks, invisible inks, glow-in-the-dark inks, coin reactive inks, benzo-free varnish and drip-effect varnish along with UV flexo inks. Operating in India for over 80 years in the offset segment, the company is creating low migration inks, EB and LED curing, spectrum series inks to cater to brands’ needs. Gaurav Sathaye, director of United Inks, said: ‘We intend to set our foot in the global market and increase our reach through the show.’
 
Vinsak, a division of Creed Engineers, will display an array of upgraded products. The company will have on display its LVPI inkjet system that includes a die-cutting unit for making blank labels and barcoding them; the latest version of its brand protection software; new range of security inks for label production; products for unique IDs and track and trace and a Lead Laser DLE system for pre-press on flexo.
